Hayek RTX – Non-invasive biphasic chest wall ventilator (BCV)

Technical characteristics: Non-invasive external ventilator using negative pressure ventilation technology, available in 12 sizes (from neonatal to obese patients). System combines flexible chest wall tubes and a programmable touchscreen power unit offering frequencies of 6-1200 cycles/minute and I:E ratios of 1:6 to 6:1.

Target patients: Patients with acute/chronic respiratory failure, including neuromuscular disorders (SMA, ALS), spinal cord/skull injuries, COPD, cystic fibrosis, severe asthma, and patients with difficult weaning from invasive ventilation.

Clinical applications: Treatment of acute respiratory failure, pulmonary atelectasis, post-operative complications, viable alternative to tracheal intubation and tracheostomy.

Specific features: BCV technology with active expiratory phase high-frequency oscillations (up to 1200 CPM) cough assistance, mobilising and expelling bronchial secretions in a physiological manner.

Patient benefits: Ventilation without a face mask, without intubation/tracheostomy, improved respiratory comfort, increased cardiac output.

Clinician benefits: Precise control of ventilation phases, automated mucociliary clearance, reduction in infectious complications, savings in specialised human resources, reduction in morbidity and mortality.
