Percuton – BARK Technology vibroacoustic respiratory treatment device
Technical characteristics: CE-marked Percuton vibroacoustic respiratory treatment device, generating complex acoustic vibrations covering a frequency range of 20-300 Hz with programmable modulation. Consists of two manual vibroacoustic emitters that can be applied directly to the chest wall and controlled via an intuitive touchscreen.
Target patients: Patients with obstructive (pneumonia, COPD, asthma) and restrictive lung diseases, immobilised patients at risk of pulmonary complications.
Clinical applications: Treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases in hospital and outpatient settings. Drainage of bronchial secretions, improvement of pulmonary ventilation, mobilisation of intrapulmonary fluids. Typical sessions last 5-10 minutes.
Specific features: Ten pre-programmed programmes adapted to different pulmonary pathologies, variable frequency modulation, automatic intensity correction according to patient category. Acoustic vibration with three therapeutic effects: improved bronchial drainage, normalisation of ventilation-perfusion ratios, opening of microatelectasis.
Patient benefits: Significant improvement in secretion expectoration, easier breathing, reduction in the duration of pulmonary consolidation symptoms.
Clinician benefits: Standardised objective alternative to manual techniques, reduction in physical workload for staff.
