Timpel – Enlight 2100

Name: Timpel ENLIGHT 2100 – Ventilatory electrical impedance tomograph

Technical characteristics: 16-32 chest electrodes. Real-time, radiation-free visualisation of regional pulmonary ventilation. Application of imperceptible electrical currents measured by local impedance variations proportional to regional air distribution.

Target patients: Mechanically ventilated patients of all ages (neonatal, paediatric, adult) with ARDS, pneumonia, respiratory failure. Chest circumference 21.5-134 cm. Patients in intensive care and operating theatres.

Clinical applications: Complete respiratory management of intubated patients until weaning. PEEP titration, detection of ventilatory asynchronies (double trigger, reverse trigger), prevention of ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI), assessment of ventilation-perfusion mismatch.

Specific features: Real-time dynamic lung imaging with colour ventilation mapping (dark blue to white). PEEP titration tool with automatic compliance calculation. Ventilation screen with impedance-volume relationships. Asynchrony tool quantifying breath stacking. V/Q tool for ventilation/perfusion mapping.

Patient benefits: Individualised precision ventilation adapted to unique pulmonary physiology. Prevention of VILI by avoiding hyperinflation/atelectasis. Reduced mechanical ventilation time, accelerated recovery, increased days without ventilation.

Clinician benefits: Objective physiological data at the patient’s bedside, eliminating assumptions. Reduced time to optimal settings through instant visual feedback. Elimination of multiple patient transfers and radiology procedures (scans/X-rays).
